Turkish flagged, 45.33 GRT tugboat Aktak submerged around the outlet of Port of İnebolu, approximately 80 m away from the shore and at a depth of 10.5 m during the salvage operations of grounded cargo vessel Balticon Hamburg (Antigua and Barbuda flagged). As a result of the oil/fuel oil leakage from the engine room, environmental pollution occurred and also, it generated a risk for safe operating of the port due to her location.

Scope of Works
§ .Oil/fuel oil leakage from the engine room detected during the underwater survey carried out by our divers and marine pollution was prevented by laying oil barriers and by covering the leaking places immediately.
§ .The tugboat was refloated by using 10 parachute type lifting bags having a total lifting capacity of 5000 kg and tugged to a quay in Karavelioğlu Shipyard at a distance of 80 m.
§ .The tugboat was laid on the stocks by parachute type lifting bags and water pumps as well as land crane and consigned at quay.
