Incident

Turkish flagged general cargo vessel Mina-I laden with approximately 2150 tons of bulk cement grounded near Yassıada in Turgutreis and generated a risk of environmental pollution. Lloyd’s Salvage Agreement, LOF 2000 on the “No Cure, No Pay” basis was signed with shipowner and operations began.

Scope of Works

An expert and a diver of ARAS visited to the place of incident and made a survey for determining the condition of the vessel and what should be done before the agreement. After the agreement prepared in line with our offer, operations started. All of the following operations were carried out under the supervision of P&I Club and controlled:

§     .600 tons of the bulk cement cargo on the vessel were transferred to hired Doğan Kartal named vessel and delivered to its purchaser in İzmit, Yarımca. Thus, the vessel was lightened and then, refloated by tugging by 2 tugs.

§     .The damages under the vessel were repaired temporarily and then, the vessel was consigned to the shipowner in a condition capable of sailing safely to port of discharge.

§     .In order to deliver the remaining cargo on the vessel to its purchaser in Yarımca, our tug escorted to the vessel for safe sailing along the way.
