This project was carried out with the cooperation of GEOS and ENAR and the following operations were carried out:
§ .Geotechnical site investigations were done until the depth of 120 m below seabed at predetermined locations in order to obtain geotechnical data and laboratory analyses of the soil samples were carried out.
§ .Geotechnical investigation was performed for gathering required data for the design of Akçakoca Offshore Platform to be constructed at 95 m depth.
§ .Soil samples were taken at every 3 m interval by drilling pipes and sent to the Soil Mechanics Laboratory of ITU Faculty of Civil Engineering to be analyzed.
§ .The drilling operations were finished on 14th of August.
§ .Drilling operations were conducted on our flat barge Seka Ak-2 having 5 mooring anchors. Tugboats Reis-6 and Vega 3 were also used in the operations.
§ .Seka Ak-2 was located 14 km away from the shore, accurately and bathymetric map of the site was prepared.
§ .Shell and auger boring and rotary boring methods were applied.
§ .After completing the site investigations and laboratory analyses, a detailed Geotechnical Report including following items was presented on 28th of August:
® General geological structure of the area & that of the investigation site
® Soil condition of the site
® Lithological-Geotechnical properties of soil layers
® Soil parameters
® Pile diameter and length
® Seismicity of the site
