Scope of Works

On the accident day, our company immediately went to the accident place and joined the fire extinguishing operations. The ropes connecting the chemical substance tanker Metin KA to the burning TPAO tanker were cut while the fire was persisting and then, Metin KA was towed to a safe place. After the cleaning works was given to our company, the operations started in line with the findings of ITOPF and the committee and following operations carried out under the supervision of them:

§     .In the first place, crude oil floating over the sea surface was surrounded by oil barriers, restricted, and then, collected by particular pumps and oil absorbents.

§     .The severe environmental pollution occurred on the shores and in the shipyards on the bay due to the fire was cleaned entirely by hot water jets and also, manually.

§     .Approximately, 593 tons of wastes and pollutants spread over the bay were collected and sent to İZAYDAŞ for disposal.
